Since then MRSA has become endemic in many UK hospitals, speard primarily through the skin it can also be contracted through the respiratory system. If that is not bad enough, Bird Flu (Avian Flu) has now spread to France, Germany, Holland, Demark, Austria etc, and the UK government has stated that Bird Flu will get to the UK before long. Whilst no surgical face mask can provide 100% protection against bacteria and viruses, a good one can can provide >99% protection against breathing in harmfull sustances. Avian Flu in particular, is especially worrying due to the fact that it can be caught by bird dropping drying out and breathing in the dust. |
